Johann Strauss is the composer who popularized the waltz with the works of musical creation in the 1800s in Vienna, Austria. Strauss created a musical composition is very much rhythmic waltz, such as “Blue Danube”, “Tales From The Vienna Woods”, “Emperor”, and a long row of others. Waltz that developed in Vienna is a fast-paced classic waltz. Dancers can explore all corners of the room spacious ballroom with a beautiful swing and rotation.

In America, waltz popularized by a couple, Vernon and Irene Castle in 1900. They introduced the “Hesitation Waltz”, which has three beats in one step. Furthermore, a waltz in the United States reached peak popularity among others through the musical film “Waltz in Swing Time” starring Fred Astaire (1899-1987). Fred is a Broadway dancer, and he brought a different waltz with “Viennese Waltz” Strauss popularized.

Waltz has a count of 1, 2, 3 with the rhythm of slow-fast-fast (slow-quick-quick). On the first count (slow), knees slightly bent so that the body down. On three knee straightened out and the heel is lifted, so the gain. If we step aside, the agency also swing laterally. Thus the movement of the swing waltz, swing up and down and side to side. In the waltz that moves is upper body, there should be no wobble in the hips.

Waltz is a couple dance almost similar with tango dance, but it does have specific technique. Waltz itself have lots of techniques, but basically are like this:
The position of men and women (or two women) face, half body dealing with the right woman half his body to the right, in order to move forward or backward when the foot did not step on each other. In the open position (open), the two dancers body is about 50 cm. Holding hands with elbows slightly bent and palms at shoulder level. In the closed position (close) second dancer agency meetings (please choose if your dancing with your husband or wife).

Although is not a mandatory, but its recommended for woman, wearing high heel shoes. It does not have to be a special dance shoes, much more important, its fit and comfortably in the leg, so it won’t loose when its used.

As we have discuss earlier about tango dance, today, I’d like to continue discussing how we could learn aspect of live from tango dance.

Intimacy, that’s what we could see from couple dancing tango, you could see two person give all their talent, power, efforts, sensuality, and emotion to do this dance. Unlike other dance that are personal, tango could be done in solo, its not good, and less attractive. Its like live, when you living in the world, two is better then one, yet doing together in one is more powerful.

As in tango dance, the men lead the first step, leading the dance in purposes, while the lady, supporting the purpose, together they creating a beautiful dance. Technically tango dance is about leadership, this is the same with live, we need leadership, and also need someone to supports us when we’re broke, or warn us when we’re on the top.

A skillful tango dancer, is like advance marriage, stepping dance floor with heart compulsion, unrealize with their physical boundaries, they kept on dancing in the lead of male dancer. The female dancer let him lead the dance, without hesitate, follow the dance. Although some dancer especially female dancer are tends to have sprain ankle, and fall because her couple unable to catch up or balance her body weight, but still after all the female dancer let him lead the whole dance.

This dance remind us about live, today women are busy with their career, some forgot their lives in pursuing of careers. But don’t you know that basically we’re a social people, we do not someone else to love us. When you have realize it, its time for you to honor your couple, either you are women or especially men, learn it from tango dance.

You might feel exhausted after work, but you might not feel it when the strains of Latin music began to sound. Anesthetized leg torn to directly around the dance floor to the rhythm.

Tango dance is one type of dance that originated from Latin America or we used to hear it from Argentina. The dancers are consist of couple, male and women. In general there are two types of tango which are Argentine tango and ballroom tango.
Lets find out the difference below:

The difference between Argentine tango and ballroom tango is from its positioning. Tango Ballroom (sometimes known as the international tango), the dancer’s body attached to one another. More Intimacy, that how we could say about it. Because of it, ballroom Tango dancers usually performed by couples and lovers.

While in the Argentine Tango, dancer’s body is not too close to partner, there is little distance between the couple. So no need to be lovers. Can also be done by anyone.

Unlike salsa, rumba, or other traditional Latin dance, tango more personal, and you could see and feel the “soul” in each dance, and the songs that pick.

No one could identify what Fuller was doing, although artists and writers across Europe tried to capture her in motion. She seemed to be the embodiment of the progress that the exhibition was celebrating—a living, breathing spark of electricity.

Nothing was newer than harnessed electric power, and nothing else seemed to hold more promise for the future in 1900. Loie Fuller’s whirling form was not new simply because her dance symbolized the larger scientific interests of her era. More than an exotic oddity performing at a world’s fair, she was a dancer as radically different and as fueled by new energies as the industrial accomplishments on view at the exposition.

Fuller was one of the sparks that lit the fire we call modern dance. Two other dancers, Isadora Duncan and Ruth St. Denis, each performing independently of the other, added their own fuel to the early flames. These American women, each following a self-determined method of dancing, were its precursors.

Of course, they did not set out to do any such thing; nor did they call their art “modern dance.” All these three women wanted to do was to express themselves as dancers in a highly personal way. Individually and separately, they rejected ballet or theatrical show dancing, the only two concert forms of dance acceptable at the beginning of the twentieth century, when their careers flourished. Their dancing was connected only by their will to experiment, for what they performed on stage could not have been more different from the other.

La Loie literally stumbled into her dance innovation. The oldest of the three dancers, Fuller was born in Illinois in 1862, but hers was not a typical Midwestern childhood. She performed on stages as a child actress and grew up in theater, later moving from Chicago to New York.

In 1890, while rehearsing for a play, she kept tripping over the voluminous material of her costume. Eventually, she cleverly placed sticks under her skirt, allowing her the practical accomplishment of being able to lift the fabric off the floor and thus avoid falling down on stage.

Fuller’s high theatricality and her submergence of self in costume and light to create a movement effect opened up new areas of theater to dancers. The respect she gained as an innovator created an artistic climate where other innovators could flourish. The skirt dance was about to disappear, but Duncan and St. Denis would be burdened with this characterization before they banished it forever.
